Gimlet Media’s mission is to help listeners better understand the world and each other through amazing storytelling. Shows like STARTUP, REPLY ALL, and HOMECOMING continues to be huge successes. When adapting stories into major motion pictures, there can and will be several complications. Time was a huge situation for Ira Glass as he was a podcaster and needed to tend to his primary medium. Stories are often changed drastically to tend to the target audience, including facts about when, where, or how the said events occur.

Time was a huge situation for Ira Glass as he was a podcaster and needed to tend to his primary medium. Stories are often changed drastically to tend to the target audience, including facts about when, where, or how the said events occur. The worst part is if it doesn’t have that “spark” that can get the audience hooked, the movies and tv shows might fall flat.

Gimlet Media has a great opportunity to pivot into other mediums of entertainment if the Robert Downey, Jr movie goes well. And they have a much more solid chance of going into television.

A few weeks ago, it was announced that STARTUP, Gimlet Media’s first podcast, will be adapted into a comedy tv show.

Zach Braff has been casts as Alex, a guy who quited his job at NPR to created his own podcasting company.

Could you imagine the guy from the hit ABC show Scrubs playing a podcaster.

This could be the begin of something new; something great. A comedy about podcasting is definitly a must see in my eyes and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Until we meet again my friends, peace.
